Hey guys – thanks for the tips! However, that’s how I’ve been doing this for years (seeing items in the Information section), and I already have my go-to’s for appliances and plumbing (and lights! But I know it will help others to know they can still get alterable lights through the Room_Fur catalog!). My question is actually on the pulls and knobs. Is there a generic catalog that shows those? That’s what I can’t seem to find.

And Kris – THAT IS AWESOME!!! THANK YOU!! 🙂 Though I’m not a fan of how Amerock has their catalog set up, this is absolutely fantastic! This actually negates the need for the generic catalog knobs anyway, so thanks for all the help everyone!

Also – one quick note on the generic catalogs… I actually find using the GE catalogs for appliances works better. First, the ranges actually look like ranges most people are buying, and you don’t have to alter the finishes or sizes like you do with the generic catalogs. Just my own quick tip! 😉

    Hello Erik,

I’m happy to hear you’ve renewed your 2020 Design subscription. From your post, it looks like your not completely convinced to make the move to version 12. We’ve made version 12 available to customers in the last several months and have been receiving high praise from customers on many aspects, specifically performance.

One thing we’ve done differently with version 12 is that you can install it onto your computer while still having version 11 installed and available to you. This means you have the flexibility to evaluate for yourself the performance of version 12 while continuing to design with version 11 if you wish too.

We see you have questions concerning our cloud-based content and performance, my recommendation would be to schedule a one on one call with a support specialist in order for us to work with you and answer any of your questions.

We realize that having our content on the cloud can be an adjustment if you are a seasoned designer with our software, however, the benefits of cloud-based content are massive. For one, it allows designers to continuously work with the most up to date content without having to be concerned with installing updates to manufacturer catalogs.

We currently have over 3000 items accessed from the cloud every day & the number is continuously growing.
Speak with a support specialist on some tips and best practices to use cloud content when your internet access is limited.

Topic: Applying an imported texture to a surface

Hi team… I’m having trouble placing/applying imported textures accurately/to scale to surfaces. For example, I use USERSHAPE for benchtops (and other things) and the texture i’ve imported is ‘to scale’ and should fit perfectly on the island, but it doesn’t. It looks like the texture starts halfway along the top and therefore looks to have a join or joins in it.

Does anyone have any tips on how to do this?

    Hi Neil,

Thank you for your response. Are you saying there is no way that 20-20 Design cannot determine that when a file is saved while designing, it cannot force the .kit extension? That’s really all I wanted to know. I understand the reasoning behind not using periods in the naming convention, but unfortunately, there is bound to be at least one in the 1,000+ team members that use the program. I have made sure everyone knows of the problem in our 20-20 Help Tips for the team members, but it does happen.

    Thanks again, Neil!

Thank you for all the tips Dawn!  🙂  I’ll be sure to share this with my team here at the office.  Some great tips in there to keep in mind that I’m not sure everyone is doing.

I agree multiple rooms would be handy. Also, the ability to have multiple floor levels (sunken lounges are common over here) would be good as well.
